| Forget the red flashing, garish variety of neon sign and think about neon as a light source in an architectural application. Most recently we've seen neon used in conjunction with fibre optics to create stunning visual effects in the ceilings of clubs and cinemas. The mood of a room can be enhanced by the use of neon via its various colours and the ability to 'dim' the tubes to adjust the brightness.
Tubes can be tailor-made to length and fit into the tightest coffer space without the need for bulky lighting battens. An extended tube life and low power consumption can result in an effective use of neon in awkward installations such as high vaulted ceilings and spaces where access for future maintenance is difficult.
